On January 15th at 10:44 a.m., our father passed away. Like many families, we are grieving the loss of a parent while also facing the difficult reality of laying him to rest with dignity and care.

In the final years of our dad’s life, another family member assumed responsibility for his care. During that time, we attempted to obtain guardianship so we could be more involved and ensure his affairs were protected, but we did not have the financial means to pursue what became a long and costly legal battle.

When our father passed, we were informed that the funds from his estate were gone and that his life insurance policy had not been kept up in his final years. As a result, there are no resources available to cover funeral and burial expenses.

We are now facing the urgent need to raise just over $10,000 in a little more than a week in order to bury our father. This has placed an overwhelming financial strain on our family at a time when we are already carrying deep emotional loss.
