Cookie was rescued in August after I found him wandering my neighborhood late at night. He was in terrible condition and appeared to have been severely burned. I was able to trap him and get him medical attention. Originally his vet bills were being paid through an animal rescue service. Recently, his wound has been fighting an infection after almost 5 months of steady progress. We also recently discovered that he is FIV positive.

With the recent infection is his wound, Cookie has needed a lot of medical attention. He is back and forth to the vets multiple times a week, and it’s a possibility that he may need a surgical procedure or skin graft to fully close his wound, as his FIV diagnosis may mean that his immune system is incapable of closing the wound on its own. While I have been able to financially support Cookie thus far, it is increasingly becoming more and more of a financial burden. I’m starting this fundraiser in hopes of getting some help to pay the last leg of Cookie’s healing journey. Any little bit helps.

Cookie is currently on 2 antibiotics and 2 painkillers as well as needing to see the vet daily for his wound to be dressed. This little boy has been a fighter since day 1, and i’m hopefully that with the help of his wonderful veterinary team he will be able to make a full recovery.
