Hi my name is Diane, I'm part of a group that rescues dogs from killing shelters in Romania, we are called Care and Compassion for Bals shelter Dogs.

I'd like to introduce you to Primrose.

On Sunday 20th April the Romanian police handed this poor old lady over to the workers at Bals ps... it was assumed she had a better chance of surviving in a public shelter than remaining with the sub-human she belonged to, who had decided she was useless and not worth feeding for weeks possibly months She was skin and bone, unable to stand up because she was so weak.

One of our lovely ladies in Romania decided to take her out of bals asap because her life was ebbing away.. This lovely old girl was named Primrose and was taken to a foster shelter to slowly build her up and give her a chance to live.. Unfortunately it became clear she was struggling so immediately went to the vets for tests. There was good news and bad news... for her age estimated to be 12 years, the good news was she didnt have heartworm and her blood pressure was good, she has stage 1 mitral valve heart disebut only requires medication, she also had some form of infection which was treated with antibiotics. The bad news is that an xray showed a mass on her spleen, suspected of being a "hemangioma"... but once she is stronger then an operation is possible and in 90% of cases its benign, for her age and with good food, medication and possibly surgery, she could live a good life.

Primrose is slowly gaining weight and was due to have surgery 5 days ago, but unfortunately her breathing became not so good and the vet wouldn't risk doing the surgery. So Primrose is on medication and hopefully she will improve enough to go ahead and have this mass removed.

Primrose is a happy gentle old lady who still trusts humans, even though her owner treated her appallingly.

We believe Primrose deserves a chance to live and to live in comfort for the first time in her life. We will continue to fight for her and many others like her.

We are asking for help to continue looking after Primrose, she needs continous medication, very good food and regular vet visits... bills are mounting up so are now asking for help and to keep Primrose safe, comfortable and as healthy as possible.
