Many who know Kona would describe her as a dog who loves to run, fetch, cuddle with you all day, and most of all, swim in the river for hours!
However, just a week ago, we noticed that Kona was limping and didn’t want to bear any weight on her right hind leg. After a vet visit and X-rays, the vet confirmed that she had completely torn her CCL( which is the same as the ACL in humans) and would need surgery.
The Veterinarian mentioned that the surgery would cost roughly $3500 and would need a $2000 deposit before I could even schedule her surgery date and pay the rest on the day of surgery.
In addition, after a few hours of research, we found out that there are orthopedic knee braces that can be used prior to surgery and post-surgery. These braces work just like human knee braces and help reduce the pressure in a dog's knee. The ones that we are looking to get Kona cost roughly around $235
Your donation would go towards Kona’s surgery, knee braces, post-op medication. All that would help us bring Kona back to being that loving, cuddling, hyper dog that we all love.
