In the early evening of Saturday, August 8th 2015 Dawn Marie Strickland lost her life in a parasailing accident on South Padre Island. Speaking as a direct family member, this tragic event has left us in complete shock, disbelief and in an immense amount of sorrow. We are taking this unfortunate incident day by day, reliving the joyous memories we have with our beloved Dawn. Her smile, sense of humor, laughter and resilience are only some of the amazing qualities she possessed. To say that Dawn will be missed is an understatement. To say she will never be forgotten is not strong enough. Dawn is loved by many and the outpouring of support received as the result of her passing has been tremendous. On behalf of Dawn, we the family kindly ask to all our friends and extended family, to donate/deposit a gift to help raise money for funeral costs and expenses. Your gift and financial contribution is just one way to assist our family during this difficult time. We appreciate the words of encouragement and emotional support and hope that the generosity and love for Dawn will help our family get one step closer in easing our burden. Dawn's amazing spirit shines on as we carry her with us everyday in our hearts and thoughts.
