Tutz is a year and a half old. She is our baby and our world. She began getting sick Monday evening and we immediately took her to our local vet. Our vet took blood work, x-rays, and kept her on fluids. They were unable to tell us what was causing her sudden sickness. They released her to us on Thursday morning. We were beyond ecstatic to have her home where we could care for her. However, she was not the Tutz we know and love. She would not eat, would not drink, and would barely pick her head up. We were not comfortable with her not making healthy progress. We then took her to an ultra sound specialist. There, they explained to us that she had ingested some objects that were blocking her intestines and perforating her intestine wall. She went into emergency surgery to remove the items. The surgery was over three hours long and did not go as well as hoped. The doctor did her best to repair the damaged areas of her lower intestines. However, part of the damage was too close to her pancreas and unable to be removed. At this point, the next three to five days will decide her future. We are praying that her body is strong enough to heal the damaged areas that were unable to be removed. The doctors and nurses are going to care for all of her needs in hopes to get her through this next week. Please help us support Tutz with any additional medical care she may need. She is everything to us and we will do whatever it takes to get her through this nightmare.
