Hi my name is Doyle and I've known Luke for about 3 years now. We first met when he was my EMT partner both working at PMT ambulance in Scottsdale Az. He and I started off rocky at first and didn't think we would work out together due to him being a heavy sleeper and sleeping thru tones a few times until he gave me an air horn to wake him with.....needless to say we became friends and he was the best EMT partner I ever worked with. Luke went on to get his Paramedic certification and I went to work for another a company called GREMS and low and behold he would soon join me at the same company and even on the same shift. Luke is a very hard worker and always trying to provide the best care he can for his patients wherever he is. Luke has been out here at Gila River now for just over 4 months. This past week Luke came into the station to start his shift and went to check his truck off and start his 24 hour day. Luke got thru his checkoff and went to the restroom and was found by his co-workers unresponsive on the floor. He suffered a seizure and has no history of seizures. Luke was transported to the hospital and upon arriving in the ER had another seizure. Luke was then flown to Barrows neurological institute as he was thought to have a brain bleed. Luke remembers nothing past his truck checkoff that morning.....upon arrival at Barrows, Luke had a CT scan of his head and they found a brain tumor unknown if its cancerous or not. Luke underwent brain surgery this morning to have the tumor removed and is in recovery now. The doctor who removed the tumor said it appears to be cancerous but will not know for sure until the biopsy results come back this week. Luke has only been with GREMS for just 4 months and short term disability is not available to him until he hits his 6 month mark. Luke has a wife and 5 children to provide for still on top of a lot of medical bills and on top of that fighting for his life against possibly having cancer. He's a tough guy but Luke and his family needs our help right now. Any donation will be greatly appreciated by Luke and his family. We will keep giving updates on here as well as his Facebook page. Brothers and Sisters I'm asking for you to help this young man and his family in their time of need.
