Two people. One proverb. Infinite possibilities.

String Theory follows the undeniable bond between Lily and Roger through the chaos of love, loss, and longing. As their lives twist and turn, these young lovers are forced to reckon with the consequences of their actions. Through it all, String Theory dares to ask: are we drawn together by destiny—or simply caught in the reality of our own making?

String Theory is a piece born of years of trial and error. Initially drafted during an undergraduate playwriting course, what began as a simple scene grew a story of two young folks curious about romance and very much excited to try it out. It’s a universal story about destiny, hope, and finding what is meant to be ours. It is an homage to the people we love, lose, and the inevitable regrets that accompany life’s journey. After years of writing and development, String Theory is making its World Debut in New York City in May 2026.

The Team
The team bringing String Theory to life is composed of brilliant, tenacious, eager artists that strive to bring excellence to the stage. With unique personal and professional experiences that have defined their independent careers, each member of the creative team brings extraordinary value and expertise in their respective fields. Some of the minds bringing String Theory to NYC include (From left to right):

The Opportunities
Phase 1: Workshop
String Theory begins rehearsals and refinements in January. This phase of the process is critical for ensuring the future success of the piece. A workshop is a closed rehearsal of a piece of work, often conducted before the piece debuts to the public. Workshopping is critical for the creative team to identify what works well and what needs adjusting to ensure the story thrives in production. Our workshop period is estimated to last approximately six weeks.

Phase 2: New York Theater Festival
String Theory makes its World Debut in May as part of the New York Theater Festival. NYTF is a bi-annual event in which new works from the tri-state area are produced for the general public as well as industry professionals with the aim of providing equitable production access to emerging artists. We are thrilled to have been selected as part of the Spring/Summer Festival 2026. NYTF is a full-scale production, which includes a rehearsal period, tech process, and three public performances in May at Teatro Latea in Manhattan's Lower East Side.

Phase 3: Fringe Festivals
String Theory has been submitted to several performance festivals across the country, and will be remounted as part of the 2026 Philadelphia Fringe Festival. Taking a production on tour is no small feat and requires a unique skill set in both logistics and artistry. We are thrilled to take our story to cities across the nation.

The Budget
Our goal is to raise $12,000 to cover expenses for all three phases. Here is how our budget breaks down:

Workshop Phase: $1,200
NYTF: $4,000
Fringe: $6,800

A more detailed breakdown of our estimated expenses is below:

*Space rental costs includes rehearsal studios as well as performance venues
**Travel & Accommodation includes both local and out-of-state expenses

Every contribution brings us closer to achieving our goal and bringing our project to life.

Other Supports
We understand that in these difficult times, not all of our supporters may be able to offer their financial backing. If you would like to support our cause but cannot make a monetary contribution at this time, kindly consider helping another way:

  • Follow our production on social media @Studio324Productions.
  • In-kind service contributions, such as printing, advertising, marketing, or photography.
  • Volunteer at one of our performances in the box office or front-of-house staff (contact us for more info).

As Lily and Roger both discover, love can be all-consuming. This team has given every ounce of their creativity and spirit to support the development and production of this piece. They do it out of love for their craft and for this story. It is our greatest hope that our story helps you fall in love with String Theory, too.
