Hello friends, family, and kind strangers,
I never thought I’d be in this position, but after more than a year of unemployment and doing everything I could to stay afloat, I need to ask for help to keep our family stable.
For 54 weeks, I was out of work. We used every bit of savings we had just to cover the basics. Thankfully, I recently found a new job — but the reality is that my income right now isn’t enough to cover our expenses and get us caught up. We’re behind on bills, and each month feels like we’re slipping further behind despite our best efforts.
The most urgent priority is our home. We’re consistently late on rent, and this month we owe $2,100 just to stay housed. On top of that, we’re facing $1,400 in car insurance, $600 in utilities, and about $3,000 in credit card debt that we simply cannot keep up with.
We’re asking for $7,500 to cover these immediate needs, with rent as the top priority. This will give us breathing room, prevent us from falling into eviction or losing our insurance, and allow me the time to stabilize with my new job.
It’s not just me affected — I have a loving spouse and our two dogs who mean the world to us. Keeping our home means keeping our family safe and together.
How the Funds Will Be Used
- $2,100 – Rent (highest priority, to avoid falling further behind)
- $1,400 – Car Insurance (so we can keep transportation for work)
- $600 – Utilities (to keep the lights and water on)
- $3,000 – Credit Cards (minimum relief on high-interest debt we can’t manage)
- $400 – Buffer (any unexpected late fees or small bills that come up)
This isn’t easy to write, but we’re hopeful that with a little help, we can keep our home and rebuild our stability. I am working hard in my new job, and with your support, we’ll finally be able to breathe again and focus on the future instead of fearing the next overdue notice.
Any amount helps, and if you’re unable to donate, even sharing this page means the world to us. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading and for caring.
