To those who know and love Shane Scott, I'm asking you to please consider helping us raise the necessary funds to assist him in a serious medical condition. Shane is currently in the hospital after falling last week, hitting his head against a door frame. Ironically, his health has deteriorated quickly while in the hospital due to his weight, bad knees and nerve damage in his back. We have aquired the services of a Registered / Licensed Dietitian, who will begin meal planning for Shane once he completes his required rehab. We are also counting on many of Shanes local brethren to assist in helping with healthy meal prep and supporting Shane with in home therapy. Shane knows he must make life changes, and has fully agreed to follow the directions and recommendations of his doctors, dietitian and therapist. In addition to intense rehab and therapy, we are trying to help him pay out of pocket for the drug Ozempic. While this drug is primarily used to treat diabetes, it has also been found to help people drastically lose weight. Insurance has denied Shane's physicians request for the treatment, and Shane is currently appealing the insurance decision. However, the appeal could take quite a bit of time, and will most likely result in another denial. We are hoping to raise enough money to pay for 10 months of Ozempic shots (approximately $1,000 per month), assistance with the out of pocket cost of rehab / therapy, along with the dietitian and in home therapy.
