Hi, I'm Terrence! I just graduated with my Associates in Arts from Santa Fe College and have recently relocated to Savannah, Georgia from Gainesville, Florida in order to attend the Savannah College of Art and Design.
I've been notified that if I do not pay the remaining balance of $11,043 (along with the late fees that have accrued) shown on my account by tonight, that I will not be able to attend orientation and may even lose my opportunity to attend to SCAD entirely. I auditioned for and was blessed to receive a few scholarships from SCAD and was under the impression that I would receive the full amount of said scholarships in order to start next week. What I am scheduled to receive over the course of the year would satisfy my current balance. I was unaware that I would not receive those funds all at once and don't know what to do, because I am unable to gather the funds on such short notice. The initial plan was to use my scholarship awards to pay for this quarter while working to obtain a loan in order to satisfy the remaining quarters.
I have worked hard in order to get here and am crushed that I may not be able to attend, due to an inability to provide such a large amount of money in such little time. I know SCAD is where I am meant to be and am willing to do whatever is required of me in order to start, but I feel as though I've exhausted all of my resources and that is why I started this Gofundme.
To think that I might not be able to attend, crushes me. I've applied for student loans with no luck and have exhausted all other means. Anything you all would be willing to give would be a tremendous help and blessing! What I owe is due by Friday, September 7th, but If I'm able to at least put down a third of what's due by some time tonight I'll be able start next Monday, September 10th. I know it's last minute, but creating this account was my last resort.
