29-year-old Ni Komang Sumerti has cerebral palsy and lives with her parents, who are farmers, and three siblings in Bebandem village in an extremely poor area of Karangasem, East Bali. Sumerti spends all her days stuck inside her very basic room with a dirt floor and a broken bamboo structure with no mattress, which she uses as a bed. It makes her vulnerable, where snakes and other animals can come into her space and she desperately needs an accessible room and a new house, so her family have a comfortable and safe place to stay. Sumerti’s parents barely earn enough to survive and are forced to work long, long hours in the field each day, so they can try to earn enough for food and daily expenses for their family.. PUSPADI Bali is determined to keep helping Sumerti as best it can and provided her with an accessible wheelchair, so she could feel included in her home and community. Surely my friends and family we can raise $2,000 to make this happen.
