Bennett Kelly overdosed Friday, September 4. He was in a medically induced coma over the weekend. They used therapeutic hypothermia to give his brain a chance to heal before they began the process of waking him up.
He arrived at the hospital without a pulse, however, there is no way of knowing how long he went without oxygen. He is alive today because of the bravery of a few close friends.
Each day brings new hope, he is home but will have a long road before he gets to surf again.
He is strong, and we just hope and pray for a full and speedy recovery.
