Thank you for your prayers, love & support!

We have all been thrown for a loop with Jim going from having a stomach bug that he just couldn't shake for a few weeks to the big ugly "C" word.

The first sign of anything being wrong was four weeks ago when singing in the choir at church, he got a little winded. However, as we all know with winter comes colds & flu. Which is exactly what we thought we were dealing with.

On December 13th Jim went to urgent care because he was having shortness of breath. They directed him to the ER in Gastonia just to make sure it wasn't a cardiac issue.

At the ER Jim was admitted & treated for dehydration & swollen lymph nodes, and fluid buildup around his lungs and heart that they thought all could have been caused by the flu. Also, he was told due to an odd spot showing up on his liver they wanted him to follow up with his primary care doctor and get some out patient scans & blood work. He was released on December 16th.

He went to see his doctor on the 23rd. He was given lasix for fluid retention & a ventolin inhaler. He was scheduled for a chest X-ray on the 29th. The doctor also told Jim that she would be out of the office on holiday & if for any reason he felt that he was getting worse to head to the hospital in Charlotte.

On the 29th early in the morning he received a call to reschedule the chest X-ray as the machine was down for repairs.

On the 30th due to increased shortness of breath & pain in his abdomen Jim headed back to the ER, in Charlotte this time. He again was admitted with fluid around his lungs & abdomen.

On January 5th The pathology report came in and they do not believe it is Colon cancer. There is a "thickening" of the bladder, a couple of spots at the adrenal glands on top of the kidneys, the lesion on his liver, and a node near his heart. They are still not sure what type of cancer we are dealing with. They want to do a Pet scan, a chest X-ray and a heart scan.

We thank you all for you prayers, love & support!
Many have asked how they can help...
Well, here's the bottom line...
Jim is currently without health care insurance.
Any amount, no matter how small, would be a blessing to Jim & his family.

Thank you again & please keep praying!!!
