Trammell Family-Liver transplant
Donation protected
Four months ago, Brent Trammell sat his family down in the living room to deliver the hardest news he had ever given. He had liver cancer and needed a liver transplant within the next year and a half if he wanted to live.
This one unfortunate event was among a series of serious health issues for Brent over the last two years. It became so bad Brent could no longer work. His family — his wife Melinda, and his two daughters Kendall, 22, and Brianna, 18 — have been by his side through it all and proudly wear their emerald green wristbands etched with the saying, "No one fights alone," in his honor.
In early October, Brent's condition worsened. His tumors continued to grow despite his chemo treatments. But before he could start radiation, he got the call on Saturday, October 17th. Piedmont Atlanta Hospital had a possible liver transplant. The news came as a surprise for the Trammell's. They weren't expecting a call like this until Christmas at the earliest
Christmas came early; Brent was No. 14 on the list for what is now his new cancer-free liver. It's a gift, he will forever treasure.
When Brent woke up after his 8 hour liver transplant surgery on October 18th, all he could say was, "I don't believe it."
The scary part is over for this strong family, but the help isn't.
Brent will never be able to return to work as he did years ago. Melinda Trammell, an East Coweta High School Special Education teacher, works during the day and comes home to tend to her family’s needs. Kendall is a senior at the University of Georgia, and Brianna is a soon-to-be East Coweta High School graduate.
No one fights alone.
How can you help?
By making a monetary donation to help defray some of the cost that insurance does not and this teacher's salary can not cover.
Pray for Brent's continued healing and that he will be approved for disability.
