Dave Hoven's Super Scooter
Donation protected
Hi my name is Beth Obermayer, and I live in Point Brittany Florida. We are a 55-plus community of about 720 families in Saint Petersburg. Recently our good friend and neighbor, Dave Hoven, 67 years young suffered a stroke affecting his brain and his heart. He has lost all use of his right side and has been in a rehab facility trying to regain some movement.
Dave is not only an amazing friend and neighbor, but he is also the primary caregiver to his wife, Debbie, who suffers from multiple chronic conditions requiring monthly visits to specialty doctors in Jacksonville.
Dave is a proud member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church here in St Petersburg, Fl. Besides attending Mass with his wife every Sunday, he usually has one or two neighbors who need transportation to Mass. Every Tuesday and Thursday he can be found serving meals to the less fortunate at the church’s soup kitchen. In our community Dave is always the first to volunteer, helping everyone he meets.
We are setting our goal of $3,500 in hopes of being able to purchase a motorized wheelchair or scooter to help him with mobility and daily chores. If anyone in our community has an unused chair or equipment they believe could help, we would express our sincerest gratitude for your aid. Of course, prayers for our dear Dave and his wife are always more than welcome!
Thank you one and all for helping us support Dave and Debbie!
