Help Us Rescue Stray Cats, Get Them Fixed, and Give Them a Chance at a Better Life

For the past year, I’ve been rescuing stray and abandoned cats in the capital region—giving them food, medical attention, and most importantly, getting them spayed and neutered so they can finally live safe, healthy lives off the streets. Although my rescuing to help others has been more recently, I have been a cat mom for most of my life and most of my current cats are those that I have rescued myself.

What started with helping out a farm with an overpopulation of cats quickly turned into a mission. I continue to help the farm and have recently been helping out with a cat colony in Albany. One of my foster fails I found in December 2024 had frostbite on her pads. There are many more at risk for frostbite and much worse. It is getting colder and these kittens and adult cats deserve to be warm and safe. I simply couldn’t look away from these situations knowing that these innocent lives are having to fight to survive.

Right now, I’m caring for 10 cats, and another woman is caring for 5 cats from the same colony, who desperately need:

Spay/neuter surgeries

Basic vaccinations

Flea/tick treatments

Testing for common illnesses

Food, litter, and temporary shelter

Emergency vet care for the ones who are sick or injured

I’m doing everything I can on my own, but the costs add up fast. Spay/neuter appointments alone are $95 each, and with multiple cats needing care, it’s more than I can manage without help. Costs can get up to $180 each with all the necessary vaccines and treatments.
