Help us start over.

Hello, my name is Kevin and I am raising this money for myself along with my 2 other roommates.

Monday morning at 1:51am. I came out of the bedroom for a cup of water, as I turned the corner I saw a bright orange light coming from my front window. I didn’t think much of it as the porch light is right next to my door, I believed that the bulb was just malfunctioning. When I opened the door the first time I felt a intense amount of heat rushing towards my body. The fire was so large that I knew we had seconds if even that, to escape the apartment. My girlfriend, who was asleep in bed already was waken up by my call of fire. We rushed out the front door which was already starting to catch on fire, with nothing but the clothes on our backs. We made it out alive with a couple of burn marks from falling ash and my girlfriend suffered some bruising from falling down the staircase. Our roommate also had a pet cat of 3 years. His name was chubby, and he was probably the smartest cat I’ve ever met. Chubby meant a lot to us but our roommate’s bond with her cat was unbreakable. She traveled the world with chubby, right by her side. Chubby was not able to escape the fire and firemen were not able to reach him on time. As the first fire truck came, the building fire had already spread across the entire second floor. My girlfriend and I sat on the grass across the street in tears. We sat there and watched as everything we’ve accumulated for the past 3 years burn up along with all the memories, gift from relatives and mementos from pasted friends and family.

I know the road to recovery might not be a straight one, but as desperate as we have become I’ve accepted to make this go fund me and share our story.

Your support means more than words can express. With your generous contributions, we will aim to piece together the fragments of our lives, starting with the essentials. Pots and pans may seem mundane to some, but they symbolize the ability to nourish ourselves and create a sense of normalcy amidst the chaos. Furniture, too, will transform a barren space into a place we can once again call home, a sanctuary where memories can once again be made, and a place where my girlfriend will once again grow her plushie army.

Every donation, no matter the size, is a beacon of light in this dark time. Thank you so much for reading our story and contributing in our journey towards healing and rebuilding.
