Castledermot Gaa Development Fund

Castledermot Gaa is a small club in South Kildare with an equally small pitch and grounds. Fielding 29 teams from under 6 to senior our current set up is not fit for our growing club.

We have been looking of a piece of ground within the town limits to expand our club and facilities but unfortunately every piece of land that has come up for sale has gone for huge amounts and we have been outbid on all of them.

A number of years ago owners of a site across the road from our existing pitch gave us permission to develop a juvenile pitch there which was a fantastic asset to the club. Unfortunately the owners of the property went into liquidation and the current owners now plan to auction the 15.24 acre site next week. It is believed that the US investment fund Cerberus currently own or control the site and PWC are the receivers.

We have always received amazing support from our local businesses and community and we are now hoping to reach out to the wider community to help fund our bid for this site as missing out on this opportunity would make our expansion and survival next to impossible.
