Hi, my name is Justin. I am 18 years old and love playing sports and the saxophone. I just graduated high school and have committed to Lawrence University's Music Conservatory. I plan on getting a Bachelors's in Musical Arts with a dream to eventually become a professor and spread the love that music has given to me. I have been playing saxophone for over 7 years and my love and passion for music has only increased during my journey. I have competed in many competitions throughout high school and received awards that, I believe have helped me get into the college of my choice. I was awarded the #1 Rank in my school, district, and region while also attending many state competitions. I recently joined GDYO (Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra) to be a part of their Jazz Combo.
While preparing for this big change, COLLEGE and moving away from all my family from Texas to Wisconsin, I also ran into another problem. I worked all year with my college advisor rewriting college essays, bugging my parents about FAFSA and tax forms, constantly doing interviews with college advisors, and practicing for recorded and live auditions, while also maintaining a 3.8 GPA during my senior year. I'm grateful that financial aid and scholarships were able to reduce the tuition from $67,000 to $9,000, but my parents just got notice that we didn’t qualify for a bank loan. Now both my parents and I are trying to work overtime and are just asking for help in order to pay the first deposit to start my freshmen year. My first day of school is September 11th and my family and I are making a road trip up to Wisconsin to save as much as we can.
I just want to sincerely thank and bless anyone who donates because truly any amount helps.
