As a new resident of Lahaina in June, I was just beginning to fall in love with my new town & Ohana. The Lahaina wildfire burned through much of the historic town & took so much from so many people. While the impact the fire had on me is not as severe as others, I did lose the place I was living in along with everything inside. I was renting a room in a house that was destroyed by the fire. I am devastated for the family I shared a roof with & the many other people in similar situations. The bottom right picture is what is left of the house. I had a room on the side & at the bottom you can see the step up to where my door was. Any donations would help me find a new place to live, replace some of my lost possessions, and provide support to me while I consider what to do from here. Living in Hawaii has been a dream of mine for a long time. I was so happy I had the resources & opportunities to move there this year. Since setting foot on Maui for the first time in late May, I have loved everything about what I have experienced thus far. I was starting to get in a groove at work, met some amazing people, and experience why so many people -both tourists & Kama’āina (locals)- love this island. Mahalo for the donations. I am very grateful & appreciative to anyone who decides to help me. If not, I would still encourage you to donate somewhere related to this tragedy as there are many organizations providing relief efforts and many families who were affected.
