Tessa’s Rescue is a small, local charity here in St Lezzers that does incredible work caring for cats and dogs. They fund urgent surgeries, foster and rehome animals, and provide safe spaces for mums and their litters who have nowhere else to go.

They recently helped me and my friend Matt when I found a 9-month-old kitten, Loki, injured on the street. We think he fell from a window. He wasn’t microchipped, and after some searching, we found his owners—who sadly weren’t in a position to care for him. Tessa’s Rescue stepped in with financial, emotional, and rehoming support. I honestly don’t know what we would have done without them.

The women who run this charity do so in their spare time, with incredible dedication and heart. They’re constantly fundraising to meet the growing demand, and right now, their resources are especially stretched—they’ve just taken in three cat mums, all of whom have had kittens. These little families will need vaccinations, the mums will need to be spayed, and they’ll all need medical care.
