Running for a Purpose: Слава Україні!

As many of your know, I am currently training with the goal of completing my second half marathon in Newport, RI, this October. The Newport Marathon has a long history of raising money for charity, and I see this as an opportunity to make this race about something more than just a race. As a proud Ukrainian-American, the natural choice of charity this year would be one that supports the people of Ukraine as they fight daily for their land, their freedom, and their lives. It is not lost on me that I am very fortunate to be able to run for recreation when the people of my homeland are being forced to run for very different reasons.
