Hello friends, my name is pastor Ray, and I'm excited to announce our goal to expand our church's mission and commitment of becoming a beacon of hope in Providence, RI, and beyond. Iglesia de Cristo Casa Sobre la Roca (Eng. Church of Christ House on the Rock) is first and foremost a faith community that has been established to heal and restore individuals and families through faith in the word of truth. We also provide several key services to the homeless, poor, low-income households, underserved groups, and families in need within our local community. Currently, we distribute food to over 350 families in our Providence community once a week and offer spiritual support in both Spanish and English languages. We also engage in world missions to help communities and families in need outside the US by providing non-perishable food, clothing, toiletries, basic over-the-counter medicine, children's school supplies, as well as biblical education, spiritual support, and family counseling. Each of these services is tailored to meet the specific needs of the individuals we serve.
Unfortunately, we have limited resources and space to accomplish our mission more efficiently. We are looking to move into a bigger facility that will allow us to set up a commercial-grade kitchen and dining room to offer warm meals, a free clothing closet, and a toiletries dispensary, all in a safe environment right in the heart of one of Providence's underserved communities. We expect to meet this goal by the end of November 2021.
