*** UPDATE ***
I was blessed with connecting with an amazing dentist out of the country who has already started treating me! Bone grafting has been done, the roots causing all the pain and damage to my lower jaw have been removed and he placed 10 screws. As if this wasn’t a blessing on its own.. he did it with full trust in me to pay him what I had at the time and pay the rest off when I return in a couple months to finish. I still need to continue campaigning to raise this amount but now rather than looking at the $20,000 as a deposit.. it’s more like start to finish with that amount.

I am slowly healing, and thankful for everyone who has been here for my family and myself through this process! This entire situation has been hell, but I’ve seen the blessing and the light at the end of this... I know I’ve been given a chance at a new life and I know how I want to live this new life. I do ask that you continue to share please!!!! I am still needing to finish the work and travel to do so. To the surgeon and family who made this possible (you know who you are) I am forever thankful for you!

My name is Stephanie Im 34 years old, I am a wife to a US disabled Veteran, my greatest accomplishment is being a mother to 4 beautiful little girls (ages 2-9). Unfortunately, with each pregnancy a calcium deficiency causing a lot of damage to my mouth started and never stopped. Through the years I have worked through this with various treatments and been able to get by so far. I've spent over $15,000 in prior work, which failed.

I recently had an incident occur causing my remaining bottom teeth, all of which were root canals with crowns, to break and become loose, resulting in having every one of those, except for one tooth left, to be cut at the gum base line to keep the bone area clear for what the dentist knew would definitely be surgery, but with a specialist. I had a prosthetic made and within one month the prosthetic broke the base of the one tooth. She made it clear I am now at risk of infection spreading (sepsis in the blood) which will cause my organs and or brain to give up on me.

She advised that at this point my options were limited and not many oral surgeons are equipped to handle my case. I was referred to a top of the line surgeon who through extensive screening confirmed that I have hit the point of only having one option left which requires my gums to be opened, removal of all tooth roots, remove all bone that has been affected by various infections at the root base of the teeth, bone grafting, insertion of metal screws and various treatments to clean out this area. This is just on the first visit - this alone is $20,000

Following that is part 2 which will start at the top, to clear damage to the bone in the upper area. And same process as the bottom area will start at this point. I'm this visit is $18,000

Then is the placement of a permanent tooth placed on to the screws, I have gone with the cheapest option which is all together, not individual implants to keep costs as low as possible while still improving my quality of life. This is when I will need to pay the last portion of the $50,000. This is all a 2-5 month time frame from start to finish.

I cannot eat and am anemic so I become very weak, dizzy and faint constantly. At the same time I have started to lose complete vision in my left eye, developing ulcers, I have already seen an optometrist for treatment which has refereed me to be seen by a specialist the first week of December (luckily this will be covered from what I know of so far). Unsure if this has anything to do with the condition in my mouth.

Being a family of 6, my not bringing in a steady income doesn't help this in any way. I have developed and am also being treated for anxiety and panic attacks which have become debilitating lately with this stress.

The thought of leaving my little girls and not watching them grow to the amazing women I know they will be one day is more than I can take. Anyone that knows me, knows that my asking for help, much less a hand out is the hardest thing I could possibly do. .... but my heart knows I have to at the very least TRY to do what I can to be here for my little girls. Insurance for some reason does not cover this as they consider it cosmetic and/or optional surgery.

Any help, whether it be a donation of any amount, or sharing and asking your friends to share... it could all make a difference for my family and myself!

Sincerely -
A mom.. a wife.. a woman determined! Thank you!
