Can you help Ecuador? #Earthquake

Hi Friends,

Firstly, I created this fund because I sincerely feel the want and obligation to help those individuals caught in the tragedy that occurred on Saturday which left thousands of people on the streets, many are injured and hundreds having to bury their loved ones.

You have two hands. One to help yourself, the second to help others.

Secondly, this fund is close to my heart and is intended to help people from the coastal part of Ecuador. I am not talking about one individual, but many families.

Thirdly, my intention of use of the funds is to purchase goods for the people in the areas affected.

A 7.8 magnitude earthquake brought Ecuador to its knees last Saturday, causing hundreds of deaths, thousands of injuries and tens of thousands of homeless – as hope fades for rescue we turn to recovery. People are terrified as aftershocks continue and nothing seems safe.

How the funds will be spent?

All money proceeds will be used to purchase the following goods:

1. Toiletries ( toothpaste, toothbrush, toilet paper, shampoo, sanitary napkins and body soap).
2.  Non -perishable food items (black beans, lentil, sardines, tuna, pasta, cereal, rice, flour, salt, sugar).
3. Cooking items ( wooden spoon (small and big), cooking pan and pot, reusable cutlery, cups, dishes, and bowls).
 4. Other items (matches, milk, cookies, nuts, butter, oil).

How you intend to get the funds to those in need?

My mother and few volunteers went to Pedernales on September 27th, 2016 to deliver the items directly to families in the community.

***Please take into consideration that the total donation amount will be exchanged from CAD to USD.

Give what you can from your heart, and remember that you'll help hundreds of people by doing so.

No donation is too small or too large. Every penny helps to build hope.

I want to thank you in advance for your help and generosity.
Please keep sharing this post, the more we raise the more we can make an impact!

Who am I and where am I from ?

My name is Andrea Tamayo; I was born and raised in Quito, Ecuador.  I currently live in Calgary, Alberta.

Your relationship to the parties you are raising funds for?

I have no direct relationship with the individuals that received the donations. The families that received the donations  were families in need  from a community called Pedernales in the coastal part of Ecuador.

These are the people that need the most from you right now.
