Hi my name is Elizabeth and I’m making a go fund me for my son maverick , who is currently 3 months old and has been in the hospital for a week as of today

originally he was diagnosed with hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) as a newborn in the NICU.. I was told once we were sent home I wouldn’t have to worry about this ever again

february 11th I woke up in the morning to his lips blue, eyes rolling downward, unconscious and seizing... he was rushed to SSM cardinal glennon in the ambulance they confirmed it was from low blood sugar .. for a babys normal range is 70/150 his lab reading we got back at the emergency room was 18

with that being said they drew more labs and diagnosed him with (CHI) congenital hyper insulinism, a very rare disease that 1 in 25,000/50,000 kids get and these cases are only seen once or twice a year in hospitals, he now is on 2 different types of medication 1 every 8 hrs and the 1 every 12 hours along with getting glucose levels checked daily which requires a finger/ heel pricks every 3 hours to make sure his blood sugar isn’t dropping .. I did some research and found 2 hospitals that specialize in this disease .. one in Fort Worth Texas called Cooks hyper insulinism center and one in Philadelphia

They have more medical equipment in Texas and can possibly cure this disease with a medication that goes through the veins, to the pancreas and highlights the infected area which can then be cut out through surgery so he doesn’t have to live with it for the rest of his life

I’m trying to gain the financial funds to take my baby to Texas to get this procedure done so he doesn’t have to worry about having a rare medical disease later on in his life .. my sweet baby doesn’t deserve this pain
