Anne Brady/Salina Cafe Recovery Fund

Through the week of September 12th-13th, unprecedented rain fell on Colorado at an alarming rate, creating massive flooding throughout the state. Anne Brady, a resident of Salina, CO, watched her home and small business of 25 years get ravaged by flood waters. A 30ft wall of water rushed down the canyon into the tight-knit, supportive community, carrying cars, trees and other debris and destroying everything in its path. Where the road wound around small mountain homes is now a gaping ravine, lined with ruined houses.

Anne, a 66 year-old, warm, caring community figure, has been a staple in the small town, offering a comforting gathering place for residents for meals and community events. Her home has been damaged beyond repair (see main photo), and her Cafe is sitting under three feet of mud (at one point almost 5ft of raging flood water), and she is uncertain she will be able to recover it. Unfortunately, she cannot count on insurance to assist with any of the costs associated with recovery of the property.

On behalf of Anne, we appeal to those who wish to reach out and help, as every little bit counts. We are one of tens of thousands of Colorado residents in dire need of assistance, and appreciate your help!
