Helping Hand

Hello, my name is Steve and I am reaching out to the go fund me universe in hopes of a blessing for my sister Jen. Understanding what difficult times so many people are going through, anything you are moved to donate is greatly appreciated. I would like to share a little background on my amazing sister and the position she is currently in and why we are reaching out for help. Jen is a 49 year old burn survivor who suffered 3rd degree burns over the entire lower half of her body as a toddler. Since scar tissue doesn’t really stretch, she has spent her whole life in and out of hospitals receiving skin grafts, releases, z plasty surgeries, physical therapy, you name it. From an early age she learned how cruel people could be when you don’t fit the mold. Even growing up with the physical pain caused by her injuries and the emotional pain caused by society, she still grew with a heart to help others, where most people would have turned bitter or played the pity card. She eventually became a massage  therapist and developed techniques specifically designed to help burn survivors and for a couple of years was able to travel around teaching these techniques. While she loved doing this, the travel expenses would often exceed the proceeds from teaching the classes. While most people will fall on hard times or go through bad luck spells, hard times seem to be the norm for someone who has already been through so much in this life. What has finally led to this request is a string of down times that snow balled into a desperate situation. Just in the last couple of years she had to have all of her teeth pulled (they were always in bad shape from years of grinding from all pain from her injuries and surgeries and finally had to be pulled) and hasn’t been able to afford the oral surgery that she needs, while she was Lyft and Uber driving to help make ends meet her car was totaled a year ago by someone driving without insurance and after the totaled vehicle was paid off and the medical bills were paid there was no money left to replace the car, now all of her utilities and regular bills are behind, and she has been battling other health issues as well. The goal of this go fund me is to raise enough funds to get her a cheap reliable vehicle that will allow her to get around and to pay for school to study hypnotherapy to help other burn survivors with their PTSD, self-esteem issues, and pain management. My sister has always inspired me with her strength and her heart for others and I can only ask that if you have read this far, that you will consider donating to help get her back on her feet.
