Hi, I am making this fundraiser on behalf of my sister, Danielle (message from Danielle describing what occurred at the bottom). Her dog Lucky is in need of surgery for a herniated disc, spinal injury with paralysis. Lucky is such a lovey and energetic dog and it is heartbreaking for them to see him in so much pain. She has two kids who love Lucky and are hoping to see him make a full recovery. Donations will also help her get him a wheelchair to help ease his pain while they await enough funds for surgery. She took him to the emergency vet in Newton on 2/12 where she was told was his options would be. The surgery at the worst case would be $10,000 but there are other options that will help leading up to that determination. It is so devastating when something happens to a pet and there is no option but to have that type of money up front and I would love to help take that stress off of her family. My sister Danielle is a single mom of two and works 2, sometimes 3 jobs. She has exhausted all other avenues such as Care Credit and Scratchpay which unfortunately are not an option in their situation. Please help her get this baby out of pain <3
Danielle’s message: By now some of you have seen the go fund me that my sister created and are reaching out to me and I appreciate all of you…yesterday we noticed that our boy lucky wasn’t acting like himself…at 5pm I was able to coax him outside on his leash to go potty and he was doing ok, but by 730 we were rushing him to the animal hospital in newton…he seemed to “suddenly” have lost the use of his back legs and was screaming in pain…the vet there said that he herniated a disc which caused him to become paralyzed … surgery would be around 10 grand —and rarely is successful in dogs— to attempt recovery in the hospital would have been around 4 grand…luckily lucky has captured the heart of most of our family and friends and he has a big support system so we chose to bring him home with strict crate rest and a lot of medications. The hope is that he will recover and the pain will go away and he will get a doggie wheel chair. from there we will make our house handicapped accessible and he can continue live his life out with us as one of our favorite family members ❤️ he is so brave and so loyal and loving, and the trust and bond he has with us really showed over the last 24 hours. Recovery will be a LONG road but for those of you that know our boy, he will absolutely find a way…he may never find his way parkouring around the house again…but he will find his way back to his happy go “lucky” self, we know it! Thank you to everyone that played a part in helping us through this so far! https://gofund.me/d50c8c33
