On Monday, June 3, 2019,  John Ezra Hollyfield was born. He was a healthy 5 lbs. 13 oz. and 19.7 inches long. However, Jessica has had several medical issues after her emergency c-section. Her heart rate was high, low oxygen and low platelets.   An echo cardio gram showed that the right side of her heart was enlarged and that she needed to be transferred to Duke University Hospital. After arriving at Duke, Jessica collapsed from cardiac arrest and CPR had to be administered for 32 minutes and she was put on life support.  They then determined that she had Pulmonary Hypertension, an underlying condition from pregnancy, labor, delivery or possibly even longer.  She had her first surgery to stop bleeding for the amniotic embolism in her uterus. The 2nd was to repair the bleed from a laceration in her liver caused by the CPRs and and they also determined the left side of her heart was damaged.
