ASHLEY PRIDEAUX CANCER MESSED WITH THE WRONG GIRL!
Donation protected
Late on October 27th, my best friend was given news that unexpectedly rocked her entire life. Ashley went in for medical treatment with unexplained symptoms and was told that she had a large mass in her abdomen, she has ovarian cancer.
At 36 Ashley has a rare cancer usually only seen in women 55 and older. After weeks of biopsies and surgery, she has been diagnosed with Rare low grade serous ovarian cancer, stage 3. This particular cancer is resistant to chemo with only a 5% recovery rate. Hormonal treatment comes with a 25% survival rate. There is no black and white treatment plan. This cancer has invaded her ovaries, uterus, intestines, and other areas. Absolutely stunned by this news, her husband Billy, their 13-year-old son Dylan, her family and friends have rallied around her with love and support. This diagnosis has blindsided Ashley and everyone who knows and loves her.
Ashley has been the absolute picture of health up to this time. She is beautiful, tall, strong and energetic. She has been the instigator of hundreds of hikes with her co-workers and friends, and loves camping with her family. She works in a busy ICU caring for many sick patients for 12 hour shifts. She meets the needs of her co-workers and patients meanwhile keeping things fun and light with pranks and her unmistakable laughter. There has never been a person to pass through the ICU that hasn’t benefitted from her knowledge, her strength or compassion. This diagnosis has stopped her in her tracks. She can’t work, and her husband Billy has taken time off of work to support and take care of her. There are so many costs associated with travel and staying in Seattle. It is unknown at this point when and if Ashley will be able to return to work.
Since that devastating news in late October, Ashley has endured multiple biopsies and surgery at the University of WA. She will need more surgeries and ongoing treatment. There are many unknowns but she is undoubtedly in for the fight of her life. Please consider supporting Ashley and her family through this go-fund me page and please share it to your own page. Social media has the ability to reach far and wide, it would help so much.
