Rachel’s Health Crisis

Donation protected
Picture a healthy young lady. Going to college. Learning. Studying to be a nurse. Healthy. Vibrant.  Feeling great on a Sunday. On Monday, this healthy, happy young lady is at nursing school and collapses. Her heartbeat is so week, it can barely be found. Her body seizes and convulses. She is life flighted to a hospital in Tennessee. Her family rushes from North Carolina, South Carolina, and further to be by her side. Doctors have no idea. Test after test reveals nothing. Bloodwork, CT scans, MRIs. Nothing. Her condition worsens. Prayers are being said, by the thousands. Her family is scared, crying, worrying. She is moved to ICU with her very own team of doctors.  More questions, seizures worsen. No answers. The hospital she is at has no answers. She has been there several days and nights. Her family has never left her side. Praying to almighty God for answers, clarity, peace. They get word she will be transferred to Atlanta- to a team of doctors who are seizure specialists.  All the way from Tennessee to Atlanta. Her family piles into cars and follows, her brother riding with her. Praying. Church families around the country are praying. Begging God.

This is Rachel’s story. The beginning of her story. Her family is scared. They have been missing work for days on end. Staying in hotels, eating fast food or hospital food. Medical bills are accumulating. Fears are multiplying.  What if? How? Why? When? Hotel rooms are adding up. Receipts from restaurants and gas stations are piling up. Friends are asking what can we do? How can we help? And the answer is pray. Pray hard. That’s all that Rachel’s family asks for. But we can go beyond that, and try to ease the financial stress this is creating.

Would you consider donating? $5.00, $10.00, $100.00. Any amount will help. This is a family who would give anything they have to help any one. Let’s show them the same love in return. They’d never ask, but, they need. And if financial help isn’t in your ability, please say a prayer for Rachel and her family.
