On 8/28/17, we were mountain biking at Copper Mountain when our lives were changed forever.
Don went over the handlebars on his mountain bike and had to be air lifted to St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, CO.
He suffered an unstable fracture of C4 and C5 vertebrae in his neck. This left him unable to move his arms or legs. The doctors performed a c3-c5 laminectomy to stabilize the vertebrae.
He is still unable to move his arms and legs and will be in a rehab hospital in CO for approximately 3 months.
At the urging of several friends, I have opened this site for donations. I have no idea what his medical expenses will be and I am not asking for help. But if you were planning on sending flowers or cards, your dollars could be put to better use this way.
I just can not express how much gratitude we have for everyone's care and concern. We certainly would not make it through this without all of you.
