As many of you now have heard, a wonderful friend of ours-Guy Berst was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colorectal Cancer.
Guy is an unbelievable father to his 14 year old son, Cregan. Listening to his stories as a proud dad makes any parent cherish the bond one has with a child.
Four years ago, my 10 year old son was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma. One of the first phone calls of support I received was from Guy Berst. He is that type of friend to me.
Unfortunately, many of us have dealt with a loved one that is battling cancer. The expenses that occur during treatment can be devastating to a family. Many just assume that you have to deal with an insurance deductible. (Dont get me started on that !!!)
To name a few:
*Loss of wages or ability to work
*Gas and transportation to and from your hospital.
*Prescription drug costs
*Added cost to grocery bill (nothing tastes right after chemo)
*Travel costs for out-of- state clinical trials
The list goes on and on...
The people that know Guy will know this to be true:
The dude aint asking for a hand out.
Guy's only responsibility is to his son. Lets take one more thing off his plate, and make a difference.
