Zayda Rayne Donations

My daughter, Alyssa, was pregnant with her first child and my first granddaughter which was due on March 13, 2016. However, as we discovered later she had contracted a virus probably in her 8th month that caused her to go into premature labor. My beautiful granddaughter, Zayda Rayne Curtis, was born on February 16, 2016. My daughter had a c section because Zayda was breech. 2 days after the birth Alyssa began running very high fevers. We were in the hospital a week before we went home. We were home 3 days before Zayda had her first pediatric appt. The night before I bathed her and noticed a very bothersome rash/skin problems. The next morning the pediatric Dr looked at it and immediately sent us to John Sealy in Galveston. After one night there we were sent to Texas children's hospital where Zayda was put in NICU in serious condition and sedated and given strong antibiotics. Her kidneys and liver began failing . I'm very very sad to say my beautiful granddaughter left this world and became an angel on February 29,2016. She was only 13 days old.
Since, Alyssa continued running fever and having pain. Drs took her into surgery again and cleaned out 1000 ccs of infectious fluid pockets in her abdomen. I was told that without the surgery she likely would not of made it.
Now she is trying to recover.. she has improved but still has several issues that need to be taken care of. Not sure how much longer this hospital will be our "home" but hopefully tests and improvement will allow us to return to our home and slightly broken lives sooner than later.
Donations will be used for baby zayda's funeral services and possibly to help with our bills since I have not worked in weeks now.
Thank you all so much for your love and support.
Please share the link in memory of my sweet granddaughter and to support recovery of my beautiful daughter.
Again. Thank you from the bottom of my heart -Lisa
