HELLO

My name is Wendy and I am here to raise money to help a dear friend of mine who recently found the courage to leave a 13 year marriage full of abuse. I would like to leave my friend anonymous as she has moved to a new city and her safety is of the upmost importance.

ABOUT MY FRIEND

A few years ago I was blessed to meet a wonderful woman at a new job. She had one of the biggest hearts I have ever seen and we became fast friends inside and outside of work. She loves big, helps others whether she knows them or not, is full of faith, love and smiles.

ABUSE ISN'T ALWAYS PHYSICAL

I never knew what she hid behind those big, bright, beautiful smiles of hers. My sweet friend never told me about the abuse she endured at home. The times I was around her husband, which weren't many, he just seemed quiet and maybe sort of a loner. The truth however was anything she said or did would be turned against her later when they were alone. It is only now I understand why sometimes she would distance herself from me, saying she had been busy or had family things going on. He had simply made her life hell for finding any sort of happiness, tried to isolate her from family and friends, made her feel unworthy.

LEAVING A NARCISSISTIC & ABUSIVE SPOUSE

My brave friend finally gathered the courage to leave and make a new start. She has had to leave her job, search for and then start a new one. Along with finding a place to live, come up with all the deposits, get utilities turned on, all the things a new start entails. It has become increasingly more and more overwhelming for her ever single day since she took her first steps out the door to a new start. I'm starting this to help her with all her deposits and hopefully her first month of rent, utilities, food and gas. To give her time to get her finances in order, her feet securely on the ground, and give her a little breathing room. To help her see she does matter, she is worth it, she can do this.
