Snickers was one of 18 puppies we saved from a hoarding situation, almost a year ago, in Rosamond, that lead us to saving and helping a total of 63 dogs from one location.
Origin story here - https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1182823798456932.1073741912.634156019990382&type=1&l=223d6fd651
Snicker was very unsocialized and malnourished when we got him. We think due to him being malnourished and probably his genes (several had problems and had inbred), he broke his leg when he slipped on the bare floor. Upon examination, we were told they were not too concerned about it and to see how it went with some pain meds. After a while of him continuously favoring his leg, we sought out a 2nd opinion and were told he had in fact broke it and it had healed wrong.
Which brings us to present day….. Snickers needs FHO surgery* which will run us about $2500.00. Just like with Minnie we will be doing a lot of begging, fundraising, online drawings and different things to raise the funds.
We will update this account as we go so you see a running total of what is needed.
* FHO Surgery - A femoral head ostectomy (FHO) is a surgical procedure that removes the head and neck from the femur. FHO surgery is performed to alleviate pain. It is a salvage procedure, reserved for condition where pain can not be alleviated in any other way.
We can't add more photos to this fundraiser, but we can provide xrays and an estimate if need be.
If you would like to donate directly to us you can do so via Paypal and note SNICKERS, this way I can add it here to our running total.
If you want to donate directly to AV Veterinary Center, please let us know ahead of time. They are always super busy and would prefer that we didn’t do it that way, but maybe with a heads up we can figure it out.
