Help Us Help Eric Reehl

This is very hard for me to write because I don't know where to start. How does one ask for help for a prideful man that has been so dependent his whole life and always been the one to provide for his family?
Almost 20 years ago this wonderful man came into mine, my brother's and my mother's lives. He was a blessing that surely God sent just for us. He isn't just my step dad but my father, my inspiration, my motivator, my teacher and many more things. He has always been there for me no matter what, no matter what I did or said. He treated me as his own child. He is my children's grandpa and the best one that anyone could ever ask for. I can truly say that if it wasn't for him that I wouldn't be the person I am today, he steered me into better.
I'm making this fund to get him a prosthetic leg and any other medical equipment he may need. As many of you know he has been fighting with diabetes for awhile now. These last couple years have been tough, in and out of the hospital many times this last year. He's legally blind and has very recently had his leg, below the calf, amputated. He is currently at Good Sam hospital still. We don't have an exact date that he gets to come home but we're trying to prepare. I'm asking for help because in order for him to be successful at home we need more help than what we can just provide. He is currently on a spend down through Medicaid, which won't cover a prosthetic anyways, he doesn't qualify for Medicare until March of 2018 because he has to be on SSI for two years first. But when he is eligible for Medicare, they will cover 80% of a prosthetic. My mom and his family are doing everything they can to prepare him to come home. This situation is very hard and emotional for us all. I want to make him more comfortable and not have to stress about getting a prosthetic leg. If your not able to donate we will surely take your prayers and thank you all for reading this.
