Help Fund Groundbreaking Research on ADHD and Sexual Health: A Study on LGBTQ+ Women with ADHD
Hello, my name is Carolien Gibb (a board-certified, internationally recognized sexologist), and I'm conducting important research for a scientific journal on the unique experiences of LGBTQ+ women with ADHD, focusing on sexual and romantic relationships, identity, self-worth, and body image. As a sexologist and researcher, I hope to contribute to a better understanding of this neglected intersection, thereby closing a knowledge gap and leading to more inclusive support for women with ADHD.
In this project, I am developing a detailed survey to collect data on how ADHD affects these women's lives in a variety of ways, including:
- Challenges in Romantic and Sexual Relationships: How ADHD affects intimacy, communication, and emotional attachment.
- ADHD Symptoms' Impact on Sexual Behavior and Decision Making: How Impulsivity and Inattention Influence Risk-Taking and Safety.
- Navigation of Sexual Health Maintenance: Understanding how ADHD affects contraception use, STI testing, and other health practices.
- Navigation of Sexual Health Maintenance: Understanding how ADHD affects contraception use, STI testing, and other health practices.
Why Your Support Matters
Creating a high-quality, inclusive survey and analyzing the results necessitates substantial resources.
The funds will go toward:
- Survey creation and data collection. (20% cost)
- Advanced statistical software allows for in-depth analysis. (20% cost)
- Publishing and distributing findings to ADHD Europe. (10% cost)
- Supporting women who suffer from ADHD and require a proper diagnosis and psychological treatment. (50% cost)
By getting involved with this study, you are helping to fill a critical gap in our understanding of ADHD's effects on sexual health, identity, and well-being in women. Your assistance can help professionals and support systems develop better tools, resources, and treatments for those in need.
Every contribution, no matter how large or small, brings us closer to a future in which all women, regardless of sexual orientation or neurodiversity, have access to the information and care they need.
Thank you for your contribution to this important project. Together, we can improve the lives of LGBTQ+ women with ADHD!
