Cremation Costs For Joan Sleeman

I've known this day would come for a long time now, yet I'm ashamed to say I'm still completely financially unprepared. My Mom has Alzheimer's and has been in the Nursing Home for a few years now. Last week she got sick, vomited, aspirated and became Septic. I'm on day 5 of sitting by her bedside trying to figure out what to do. She's a fighter but she cannot hold out too many more days. The cheapest cremation I can find is $1250 here in Charlotte. It has no service but will give me her remains that I can place in the cemetery plot I own in Winfield, Illinois next to my sister Jann, my Dad, her sisters, brother, and other family members (at a later date when time and money allows). The other expenses are for a Catholic Priest to administer Last Rites (now known as "Anointing of the Sick"), and the 8% plus .$0.30 each donation that this site charges. The county morgue will hold her body in cold storage for 10 days without charge while I try and come up with arrangements but they charge $50 per day after that. My other option is to not claim her body from the County's morgue. After 10 days they will cremate her and put her ashes in a Potters Field somewhere but I cannot have access to them. I don't want to do that if at all possible. Thank you for considering to help. It means the world to me at this truly difficult time. Jody Mains @ [email redacted]
