Unexpected amputation

Hi. My name is Bert Lasselle, AKA The Fragrance Whisperer. The night of 12/14, I slipped getting out of bed, ended up on the floor with no strength to get back on my feet. I stayed there for 10 hrs before calling EMS. Admitted 12/15 and was told an amputation would occur. On 2/17 I lost the lower part of my left leg below the knee. For someone who works on their feet, this was devastating. The pain I endured while checking for infection was excruciating.

After 2 weeks & a second operation, I was released to a Rehab Facility, where I stayed until 2/7. During this time I discovered the Dr's office never sent the paperwork to the Insurance Co. So my leave of absence was denied nor was I being paid. I cannot go back to work, if they let me, until my prosthetic is in place and the Dr. signs off on me... another 5 weeks...?

Coming home on 1/7, several bills got backed up including 3 months rent. The Building Manager already sees me as a Liability so I have to prove him wrong and pay off the rent. My insurance doesn't cover the entire prosthetic and I may have to pay them 1,000 before I can have it.

I've never felt so lost. I've only confided in a couple of people, and this is much worse than my Open Heart surgery 3 years ago

I'm only asking for help to get back on my feet, or foot as the case may be....
