Help Matt Recover

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Adelheid and I'm raising money to help my family get through a financial crisis and medical emergency. We are in a desperate situation and need help right away. My husband, Matt and I are both entrepreneurs and together we have four daughters ages 5-13.Matt is a top accountant at his company with over 500 clients. He's very brilliant and loves his job especially because he gets to help people.

Matt worked more than full time with his clients while taking care of me during my recovery from ankle surgery, and getting our four girls to and from school and extracurricular activities. Unfortunately, three weeks into my recovery Matt suffered a stroke or subarachnoid hemorrhage, which required emergency brain surgery. Matt is currently in the ICU in Iowa City for a week and then will spend two more weeks in the hospital being monitored. After that he would get to come home to his very anxious family. He is physically and mentally doing very well, much better than many in his position, but he will need to take things very slow for the next six to twelve months.

When Matt does come home, he will have a long road to recovery ahead of him and that will limit the work I can do. Our bills continue to come in though and now the holidays are right around the corner. We are now currently behind on major bills like rent, utilities, car payment and support for our three oldest daughters.

I am hoping to raise $8,000 immediately, to catch up on overdue medical expenses and bills and pay all our bills through the next month. Reaching the goal of $50,000 will help to cover our monthly expenses while Matt eases into working again, if possible.

Each $4000 raised gets us through a month and helps create normalcy for our girls
Each $1250 is another month we get to stay in our home
Each $840 helps take care of our girls for a month
Each $60 pays for us to drive the 2 hours round trip to visit Matt in Iowa City

This is critical to keep us from being evicted, losing our car and everything that we have worked for as a family for seven years. Matt has given to our community by volunteering at many non-profits, as an ombudsmen at the veterans home, at our church, cleaning up parks, with Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa,
and for several years served on the board of directors for The House of Compassion in Marshalltown, IA, While he was there he fought hard to make sure that families in the community had food, toiletries, clothes, school supplies and a safe place to sleep at night, because Matt's finds joy in emulating God by doing everything he does with kindness and honesty.

My family and I would greatly appreciate any support you could offer. Even if you feel like you can not help a lot, every little bit adds up. It is with the utmost humility that we as a family ask you for a helping hand by donating or sharing. Thank You.
