Im sorry that we’re back here and I’m asking for help again Kaiden has unfortunately relapsed with medulloblastoma.
In a routine MRI a spot was seen in his spine, and on further investigation has been confirmed as relapse. The tumour is in his spinal cord in his neck.
We are absolutely shattered and heartbroken.
He has had a lumbar puncture today (20.03.24) which will determine treatment options going forward. Today we had some very difficult conversations and will talk more with the consultants and surgeons on Tuesday.
I hate asking for help, but we are again fundraising for the reasons below
1. Kaidens memories - we want to be able to give Kaiden as many amazing experiences and treats as we can. We want every single day for Kaiden to be full of fun, laughter, new experiences and of course love. We want him to enjoy spending time with his siblings, cousins, nephews and niece and friends, and just have fun
2. Travel and food costs - there will be many hospital trips, this will be John Radcliffe, Stoke Mandeville and potentially London (UCLH) depending on treatment. This incurs so much cost in fuel. Food at hospitals is also very costly (todays bottle or Dr Pepper for Kaiden cost £2.49) It all adds up
3. Alternative therapies and treatments - we just don’t know yet what our options are, we will be looking in to clinical trials, treatments and holistic therapies, we don’t know the cost of these but we will update on here and let you know if and when we access these. Until Tuesday we just don’t know what this will look like.
I really don’t expect anyone to provide for us, your love and support is enough. If you do feel you can help with a donation then it will be greatly appreciated, although not an expectation. We are so grateful for our support network, and would not want anyone to put themselves in financial hardship by helping us, this is the last thing we want.
If you have a network that you can share Kaidens fund with then please do. We are eternally grateful for all of you, your messages of support are heart warming and we really feel we have an army behind us, thank you for being our village and thank you for being Kaidens Army
