Mason’s Heart Surgery

Hi, my name is Chris Mathis and the Uncle to a very special 4 year old boy named Mason Mathis. Mason is one of the sweetest kids you could possibly meet and has so much love in his heart. Unfortunately that heart he loves so big with is in need of surgery. Mason was diagnosed with a heart condition early in life and it was determined that surgery would eventually be needed to repair his heart after it strengthened and had a chance to develop.

The time has now come to repair his heart through an open heart procedure called a Ross procedure where the surgeon removes the damaged aortic valve and replaces it with Mason’s pulmonary valve and then replacing the removed pulmonary balance with a donor valve. The procedure will be done at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami later this month which we know is one of the best places Mason can be and who will provide excellent care for Mason

Obviously this excellent care comes with a cost and Mason’s parents are facing many expenses being added onto their plate during such a stressful time.

My hope for this fundraiser is to raise funds to help cover some of those expenses and allow Masons parents to primarily focus on Mason and his recovery.
