Superior Crossing Guard Fundraiser
Donation protected
When students in Superior, Wisconsin reach fifth grade, they have the wonderful opportunity to join the Crossing Guard Team at their school. This program is guided by Triple AAA, the Superior Police Department, and the seven elementary schools within our district .
These students work hard throughout the year, morning and afternoon, to ensure the safety of their fellow peers as they enter and leave the school grounds. Rain, snow, or shine; students take their post. From the beginning of the year students are trained how to properly carry out their tasks to ensure their safety and the safety of the children and adults they are crossing. It is a job that must be taken seriously and they do it voluntarily. Our students work hard!
Students are rewarded for their hard work throughout the school year with various group activities such as sledding parties, World of Wheels skating parties, and get-togethers at the Duluth Boys and Girls Club for rock climbing and kick ball games. However, the largest reward for those with outstanding performance is a two day trip to Wisconsin Dells.
During the month of May, schools districts throughout the state of Wisconsin select 50-60 children to participate in this amazing two-day trip. Perhaps you remember being a crossing guard and attending this trip! The event has been running for 20+ years! The businesses in the Dells discount hotels and attractions to reward these hard working students; however, the cost of the trip is increasing. Fundraising that students have been able to do in the past is now limited.
The money raised will not only help cover the cost of the activities aforementioned, but also materials(belts, ponchos, badges, flags, etc…) needed for crossing guards so our students can carry out their duties safe and responsibly.
Thank you in advance for your help.
