Bonnie's Surgery and Rehabilitation

Amberwood Sanctuary: A special place for donkeys, rescues and provides permanent sanctuary for wild burros and unwanted/abused donkeys. We are a small organization, presently caring for 30 donkeys.  The board consists of four board members with Carol Knight Watson, co-founder/president, who cares for the donkeys on a daily basis.  

Our Bonnie, age 26, has a clubfoot that recently has been giving her a lot of discomfort.  She had surgery at Auburn University Veterinary Clinic (AUVC) on 4/1/2021, and will probably require a two-week stay at AUVC for rehabilitation.  

As with a lot of nonprofits during these trying times, (and for us, particulary because of Hurricane Michael), we are in the midst of a financial hardship.  Our top priority is, of course, for Bonnie to make a full recovery.  Auburn University Veterinary Clinic is very generous to offer a 20% discount based on our nonprofit status.  Any additional funds we receive through GoFundMe will be applied to our daily operations for the care of the 30 donkeys, and includes the approximately $1,000 monthly hay expenses.
