Help Me Keep My House and My Car

Hi everyone. It's Stoker again. I previously made a GoFundMe to help my father and I with some electrical problems with the house. You were all SO generous with that one that we got that and several other problems fixed, and for that I will always be eternally grateful. But now a much more dire situation has arisen, and I need your help more than ever.

This past Saturday, my father died. He was very old and had been very sick for a while, so it was in some ways not a surprise but in others it still managed to catch us all off guard. I have been living with him and acting as his unofficial caregiver for the past 6+ years, so emotionally, spiritually, and financially I'm still kind of reeling. He had just enough life insurance to pay for his final expenses (barely) but as far as I have been able to determine, there are no other policies. And because of this, I now find myself in the position of having to cover a whole lot of expenses (such as a mortgage) that had, previously, been at least partially covered by my father's pension and social security income. Needless to say, I am not yet prepared for this, and I must assume this burden beginning next month.

On top of that, my car has also chosen this week to have a Mysterious Vanishing Oil problem. I don't know where it's leaking (certainly not underneath it) but it's in the shop being checked and I'm waiting to hear what they find. Whatever it might be, I don't imagine it will come cheap, though.

Friends, I have already had to ask for help more often than I'd like to. I truly dislike doing this, but this time? This time I have absolutely no choice at all. Both my home and my transportation are at stake here.

I don't even actually know how much I really need, the starting goal was just a suggestion, a figure I pulled out of thin air. It's probably even on the low end, but I don't want to set it any higher until I know...something.

This is a temporary fix. If I can get enough to cover the bills for a few months, and my car repairs, that will enable me to lay the groundwork for taking on the bills myself. I know I can do it. I just need something to help keep me afloat until I reach that point.
