The Mamaroneck Schools Foundation recently awarded a generous student grant to help fund an assembly at Mamaroneck High School (MHS) relating to criminal justice. The assembly, which will take place at MHS on March 11, 2024, will feature a guest speaker who was wrongly incarcerated and spent nearly 30 years imprisoned on Alabama's death row. The speaker's release was secured by Bryan Stevenson, founder of the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI), and author of "Just Mercy," a book read by MHS juniors in the AP Language and Composition course.
I am asking for donations from the Larchmont-Mamaroneck community to help make the MHS “Just Mercy” assembly a reality. All donations received will be used for speaking fees, travel costs and other logistics involved in holding the assembly at MHS. Donations of $35.00 or higher will be acknowledged in a program prepared for the assembly.
Thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
Ethan Ferguson
