To her students, she’s known as “Señora Rosa.” To her family and friends, she’s just “our Rosie.” No matter how you know her, one thing is clear—Rosie is a light in the lives of those around her. She's strong, kind, caring, and always wears that sweet, comforting smile. As a teacher, she gives her all to her students. As a friend and family member, she’s the kind of person who’s always there, going above and beyond for the people she loves.

Seven years ago, Rosie did the unimaginable—she beat stage 4 breast cancer. Her strength and determination were nothing short of inspiring. Sadly, seven years later, something unimaginable happened again: the cancer returned, this time spreading to both of her lungs.

Now, Rosie is facing another uphill journey with doctors, treatments, and a whole new chapter in this fight. If anyone has the spirit to do this again, it’s Rosie. But the reality is, fighting cancer takes more than courage—it takes resources, energy, and a whole lot of support from the people who love her.

In the coming weeks, Rosie will be traveling regularly to Moffitt Cancer in Tampa for testing and to begin immunoglobulin injections. These trips will continue every three weeks, indefinitely. With her current car nearing 20 years old, she’ll need to rent a car for each visit. The tests, treatments, and medications are already piling up, along with the financial strain they bring.
